Guy Kawasaki is at it again. From the author of the bestselling The Art of Start: The Time-Tested, Battle-Hardened Guide for Anyone Starting Anything comes Reality Check: The Irreverent Guide to Outsmarting, Outmanaging, and Outmarketing Your Competition. In Reality Check, Kawasaki has compiled the best of everything he’s done and seen in the last 25 years that pertains to starting and operating great organizations. Specifically, he focuses on the stages of creation and operation of an organization, but the lessons he provides are truly useful for organizations at all stages.
On Kawasaki’s Web site he writes, “If the two most popular words in your company are “partner” and “strategic,” and “partner” has become a verb, and “strategic” is used to describe decisions and activities that don’t make sense, it’s time for a reality check.” Well said!
Look for a summary of Reality Check in February, and until then, take a look at Kawasaki’s blog called How to Change the World. I’m sure you’ll learn a thing or two.
